Die Lehre vom Fegefeuer:

Die Vorstellung eines Fegefeuers, eines fiktiven letzten Reinigungsortes, wurde im Jahre 593 von Papst Gregor dem Großen eingeführt. Gegen diese Idee bestand so große Abneigung (da sie der Bibel widerspricht), dass das Fegefeuer fast 850 Jahre lang nicht zum offiziellen katholischen Dogma wurde – das geschah erst 1439 auf dem Konzil zu Florenz. Keine andere Lehre hat jemals die Macht der Kirche über ihre Mitglieder und ihre Einnahmen derart gesteigert. Bis auf den heutigen Tag schwebt das Fegefeuer drohend über den Katholiken, die der Kirche deshalb immer wieder Opfergaben bringen, wie z. B. Geld für das halten von Messen usw. damit sie durch ihre Hilfe einst aus diesem Ort der Qualen befreit werden.

Zur Widerlegung des Fegefeuers: es gibt in der ganzen Bibel kein einziges Beispiel, dass jemand für Tote betet. Die Bibel sagt klar, dass „es den Menschen bestimmt ist, einmal zu sterben, danach aber das Gericht“ (Hebräer 9, 27). Nach dem Tod ist es zu spät für Gebete, dann kommt nur noch das Gericht. Die Stelle in 2. Makkabäer 12, 46, die als Grundlage genannt wird, ein Buch, welches zu den Apokryphen gehört und von der römisch-katholischen Kirche beigefügt wurde, wie noch einige andere Schriften, enthält Mystizismus, Okkultismus und unbiblische Lehren. Die angeführte Stelle widerspricht der Bibel. Die Idee für die Toten zu beten, ist sowohl gotteslästerlich als auch Zeitverschwendung, aber wohl kaum eine Grundlage für die Lehre vom Fegefeuer. 

Der Tote hat kein Bewusstsein mehr, der Odem ist von Gott weggenommen. 1. Mose 2, 7: "Und Gott der HERR machte den Menschen aus einem Erdenkloss, und er blies ihm ein den lebendigen Odem in seine Nase. Und also ward der Mensch eine lebendige Seele." Prediger 12, 7: "Denn der Staub muss wieder zu der Erde kommen, wie er gewesen ist, und der Geist wieder zu Gott, der ihn gegeben hat." Es wird so erklärt in der Bibel: wenn ein Mensch stirbt, kehrt sein Odem zu Gott zurück. Der Mensch hat keine Seele. Das Wort Seele wurde von den damaligen Menschen, die die Bibel geschrieben haben, als ganzer Mensch bezeichnet. Seele=Mensch. Darum wird in der Bibel von den Toten immer so gesprochen, dass sie schlafen, sie sind entschlafen. Ein Schlafender ist ohne Bewusstsein, er bekommt nichts um sich herum mit. So etwa ist der Tod. Wenn Jesus wiederkommt und die Toten auferstehen, bekommen sie wieder Odem von Gott. Die einen werden zum ewigen Leben auferstehen und mit Gott und Jesus Christus auf der neuen Erde ewig leben – die anderen werden zum Gericht auferstehen und wenn sie nicht im Buch des Lebens gefunden wurden, in den Feuersee geworfen, das ist der zweite Tod. (siehe Offenbarung 20 und 21).

The idea of ​​a purgatory, a fictitious final cleansing place, was introduced by Pope Gregory the Great in 593. To refute purgatory: there is not a single example in the entire Bible of someone praying for the dead. The Bible clearly states that “man is destined to die once, but judgment afterwards” (Hebrews 9:27). After death it is too late for prayer, then there is only judgment. The passage in 2 Maccabees 12:46, which is mentioned as the basis, a book which belongs to the Apocrypha and was added by the Roman Catholic Church, like some other scriptures, contains mysticism, occultism and unbiblical teachings. The passage quoted contradicts the Bible. The idea of ​​praying for the dead is both blasphemous and a waste of time, but hardly a basis for the doctrine of purgatory.

The dead are no longer conscious, the breath has been taken away by God. Genesis 2, 7: "And the LORD God made man out of a dump of the earth, and he breathed living breath into his nostrils. And so the man became a living soul." Ecclesiastes 12: 7: "For the dust must come back to the earth as it was, and the spirit back to God who gave it." It is explained in the Bible like this: when a person dies, his breath returns to God. Man has no soul. The word soul was referred to as a whole person by the people who wrote the Bible at that time. Soul = human. That is why the Bible always speaks of the dead in such a way that they sleep, they have fallen asleep. A sleeper is unconscious, he does not notice anything around him. That is what death is like. When Jesus returns and the dead rise, they will get breath from God again. Some will be resurrected to eternal life and live forever with God and Jesus Christ on the new earth - others will be resurrected for judgment and, if they were not found in the book of life, thrown into the lake of fire, that is the second death.
